In Paul's own words...

"My paintings are a response to the beautiful and often stark landscape of the North Pennines - from broad views of the moors and fells, to more intimate views glimpsed through windows in abandoned dwellings. The landscape is littered with the scars of mining and quarrying and I am producing paintings of places as they are slowly being reclaimed by nature. I am constantly amazed at the amount of abandoned dwellings that I keep finding and they are a rich source of inspiration to me."
